i dont think you can design a good desktop app
there are a lot of cross-platform desktop apps floating around now which is great. it means people have a choice of which OS to use (theoretically anyway). i mean mac, windows or linux, not cross-platform as in adobe air. i recently just realized something: if you have an offering of a multi-os desktop app and your screenshots are NOT for the mac, i will not use it. i have nothing against windows...

the internet is abuzz with talk of google’s announcement of its impending OS. it has been met with a lot of rejoicing and curiosity. it is true that google creates many advanced technologies, but i am skeptical as to whether those new technologies will translate into a better OS. the crux of google chrome os seem to be to cater to the web browser. this makes sense for their strategy.
